Tà Cú Mountain – 56 mins

Ta Cu Mountain (Tàkou) was originally a volcano with covered primeval forests and lush vegetation. The mountain is located along National Highway 1A, in Tan Lap commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, 40km from Phu Hai Beach Resort & Spa.

The road to the top of the mountain is about 2,290m long, with stone steps on steep, winding slopes. The highest slope, inclined 45 degrees, is called Bang Lang, where the landscape is charming with ancient tombs on both sides. The path is less challenging when visitors are still about 1,200m from the top, from here the blue sky is hidden in the trees and visitors can see the valley below dimly in the mist.

Take a deep breath of the refreshingly breezing air on Ta Cu mountain. The mineral rich terrain was once a volcano of the First Epoch, containing two mineral spring mines. The first one in Bung Thi, bordering 3 communes Tan Thanh, Thuan Quy and Tan Thuan. While the other is located in Phong Dien, Tan Thuan commune.

Visitors can also take the cable car to enjoy the view of Ta Cu mountain forest from above in 15 minutes.

– Adult ticket: 250,000 VND/round-trip ticket.

– Child ticket 150,000 VND / round trip ticket.

Two famous pagodas are Linh Son Truong Tho and Long Doan located at an altitude of about 400m on Ta Cu mountain. The two temples are collectively known as the Mountain Pagoda.

Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda was built in 1879, but many years before that, there was a pagoda worshiping Buddha with thatched roofs and earthen walls. The pagoda is abducted by monk Tran Huu Duc, a place lost in a charming mountain, all year round there are green trees, flowing streams, birds chirping. Long Doan Pagoda was built later.

Mountain Pagoda also has a giant Buddha statue: “Shakyamuni Entered Nirvana” located at the highest position about 100m from the temple. This Buddha statue belonged to a rare Buddha image in Vietnamese Buddhist history and was the largest statue in Vietnam at that time. About 50m from the reclining Buddha statue is the group of Tam The Buddha: Amitabha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Dai The Chi, all three statues have a height of about 7m.
